The Hard Rock Casino Oklahoma Golf Expo won't conflict with the Super Bowl. But organizers of the golf show hope to get the Super Bowl party started Friday.

The two-day expo will start Friday, when hours are 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Opening day will be capped by a 4-6 p.m. blues and brews party featuring guitarist Mark Galloway and drink specials.

The expo will conclude Saturday, when the hours are 9 a.m.-6 p.m. The golf show has spilled over into Sunday in the past, but it has been a Friday-Saturday event in recent years.

One of the reasons why the golf show will end before Sunday this year is because organizers chose not to compete with Super Bowl Sunday and Super Bowl parties.

The 11th annual expo has become the Super Bowl of golf shows in Tulsa. It is held around the same time each year because, with weather making January and February a slower-than-usual period for playing, an indoor golf show may appeal to individuals who are anxious to hit the links and or check out the latest in equipment and apparel.

For the second consecutive year, the golf expo will be held at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Catoosa. Show founder Ken MacLeod said he is excited to stage the event at one of Oklahoma's top destination resorts and at a venue that is home to one of the state's finest courses, Cherokee Hills Golf Club.

The show will again include free seminars from top teaching professionals and celebrities.

All attendees are eligible for a year's subscription to Golf Digest, $10 casino free play coupons (while they last) and door prizes by registering at the entrance.
