Legend Senior Living is building its third assisted living center in the metro area, this one near Tulsa Hills Shopping Center.

Wichita-based Legend Senior Living has started construction on a $13 million, 86-room facility that specializes in both assisted living and memory care.

The Legend at Tulsa Hills facility is expected to be finished early next year, according to a news release from the company.

The new center, designed for seniors who don't need the full-time care of a nursing home, is expected to be about 478,000 square feet, according to building records.

The Reflections Memory Care Residence will be an 18-apartment division in Legend at Tulsa Hills dedicated to people with memory impairments such as Alzheimer's disease and other dementias.

The facility will also include a theater, kitchen, private dining room, a massage and therapy room, and an activity room.

It will be located between the Turkey Mountain Urban Wilderness Area just west of the Arkansas River and a QuikTrip convenience store and gas station that was completed last year.

Legend Senior Living just finished construction on its second assisted living center in Tulsa, the Legend at Mingo Road at 7902 S. Mingo Road.

The company also owns the Green Tree Assisted Living and Memory Care Center in Sand Springs, as well as facilities in Oklahoma City, Edmond and Norman.
