A not-guilty plea was entered Friday in Tulsa County District Court on behalf of a man who is charged with making a lewd or indecent proposal to a 14-year-old girl.

Former Victory Christian Center janitor Israel Shalom Castillo, 23, is scheduled for a jury trial Aug. 19.

The charge involves a 14-year-old girl whom Castillo met through his work at Victory Christian. He is accused of sending multiple lewd messages to the girl through Facebook.

Castillo and Chris Denman, both Victory Christian Center members who worked as janitors for the church, were charged in September with separate child-sex crimes.

Denman, 20, pleaded guilty last year to six felony child-sex charges, including the rape of a 13-year-old girl. He was sentenced to 55 years in prison and five years of probation.

Five Victory Christian staff members, including John and Charica Daugherty, a son and daughter-in-law of Senior Pastor Sharon Daugherty, have pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor charges of failing to report child abuse during a two-week lapse between when the 13-year-old told she had been raped in the church and when authorities were notified.

Others accused of not reporting the crime are Paul Howard Willemstein, Anna Alisa George and Harold Frank Sullivan.
