Oral Roberts needs to hold serve when the Golden Eagles conclude a four-game homestand with a Saturday game against Southeastern Louisiana.

ORU enters the weekend in a four-way tie in the Southland Conference standings behind solo leader Sam Houston State.

The Golden Eagles, 6-3 in league play, share second place with Central Arkansas, McNeese State and Lamar.

Why is it important for ORU to hold serve at home? Because all of the teams in the top half of the standings are facing teams from the bottom half of the standings this weekend. Lose a game you're not supposed to lose and you also stand to lose a lot of ground.

ORU opened Southland Conference play with a 19-point road victory at Southeastern Louisiana, which is ninth in the league standings.

Southeastern Louisiana lost its first seven conference games but will bring a two-game winning streak to the Mabee Center. On Thursday, the Lions ambushed Central Arkansas in Conway, Ark.
