A Tulsa man led police on a car chase early Saturday before being arrested on a complaint of driving under the influence after four previous DUI convictions.
Kevin Louis George, 48, was booked at 1:45 a.m. into the Tulsa County Jail on complaints of DUI, drug possession, eluding officers and resisting arrest. His bail was set at more than $27,000, according to an arrest report.
The report says a Tulsa County Sheriff's deputy noticed a car swerving between lanes on Oklahoma 11 before making a sudden right turn without signaling onto the Harvard exit ramp.
The driver slowed and pulled to the shoulder when the deputy turned on his emergency lights but then made a left turn and ran a stop sign, the report says.
The driver led police on a chase, at times reaching 100 mph, while throwing a plastic bag, a can and a Styrofoam cup out the window, the report indicates. He ran numerous red lights before running into a ditch.
He had an odor of alcohol on his breath along with bloodshot eyes and slurred speech, the report says.
Court records show George has four previous DUI convictions from 1999, 2006 and 2011.
Police also said cocaine was found in his car, and marijuana was found where he had thrown a plastic bag out the car window.
