Slight rain arrives in Tulsa area this morning

Tulsa World Weather: A new weather site powered by the Tulsa staff of the National Weather Service. The partnership allows Tulsa World readers to receive weather alerts, forecasts and current conditions as the staff issues them.

Tulsa recorded trace amounts of rain this morning, starting what is forecast to be a warm day.

The National Weather Service forecasts a 20 percent chance of rain before 11 a.m. today, then highs in the mid-60s and southwest 10 mph winds in Tulsa.

More rain chances are forecast this week, with a 30 percent chance Wednesday night and 60 percent chance Thursday. Additional chances are forecast for Saturday and Sunday in Tulsa, according to the weather service.

This is the first rain recorded in Tulsa so far this month.

Tulsa's highs in the 60s are forecast to continue in through Friday, when highs are expected to dip to the 50s, then return to the 60s for the weekend.

Overnight lows in Tulsa are forecast for the 30s through Wednesday night, when lows are expected to jump to the 50s, according to the weather service.

Tulsa's highest temperature before today this month was 59 degrees Saturday. The lowest was 16 degrees Friday, according to the weather service.
