Charges were filed Tuesday against a Tulsa man who is accused of driving under the influence while leading police on a car chase.

Kevin Louis George, 48, is charged in Tulsa County District Court with driving under the influence of alcohol -- third or more offense, unlawful possession of a controlled drug and eluding a police officer, court filings show.

George is also charged with driving with a suspended license, failing to carry vehicle insurance, resisting an officer and unsafe lane usage.

He was arrested Saturday after a Tulsa County sheriff's deputy observed George's 1998 Cadillac swerving between lanes on Oklahoma 11 before making a right turn onto the Harvard Avenue exit ramp without signaling, a police report says.

George pulled to the shoulder after the deputy turned on his emergency lights but then made an unexpected left turn and ran a stop sign, the report alleges.

He led authorities on a chase that reached upwards of 100 mph at one point, while throwing a plastic bag, a can and a cup out the window, the report says. He then ran several red lights before finally running into a ditch, according to the report.

The arresting officer wrote in the report that George had alcohol on his breath, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech.

Police also discovered cocaine in his car and found what appeared to be marijuana that had been thrown from the vehicle, the report claims.

George has four previous DUI convictions from 1999, 2006 and 2011, records show.

He remains in the Tulsa Jail with bail set at $27,400.
