The National Rifle Association seems unwilling to cooperate in any effort to control gun violence in America and I expect it won't my like my suggestion here. If the NRA is bent on having these military-style weapons, then maybe it would be willing to contribute to pay the salary for guards at our schools. Since there are a few million of these folks, a couple hundred dollars a year fee shouldn't hurt that many.

If the NRA doesn't want to do that, then perhaps it could have the option of volunteering to do this guard duty in communities.

We hear all the time that "freedom isn't free." So the freedom to own these weapons should have a price, other than the price of children's lives that are being lost. What do you think?
