Area firefighters train Tuesday to extinguish flammable liquid fires at the HollyFrontier refinery, 1700 S. Union Ave. Tulsa Fire Capt. Stan May said firefighters from Sand Springs and Broken Arrow also trained at the refinery. The refinery has "a great training facility out here," May said. The fires sent large plumes of smoke over parts of Tulsa that could be seen for miles.
