Frankie Davis is thankful for the second chance he received to sign with the University of Tulsa.
In December, Davis waited a little too long to accept the Hurricane’ scholarship offer and the defensive line slot closed when Union’s Dalton Rodriguez switched his commitment from Oklahoma to TU. As a result, Davis committed to New Mexico. But last month, another spot at TU opened up and Davis didn’t hesitate.
“I jumped on it pretty quick and made the decision right there,” Davis said. “I’m so happy it ended like this. TU is a great place for me. I can’t imagine right now playing in New Mexico. I am real happy TU came back around to me.”
Davis was a Tulsa World 2012 All-Metro first team selection. In 2012, he had 82 tackles, including five sacks, and three fumble recoveries to help the Tigers reach the Class 6A quarterfinals. In 2011, he had 69 tackles as he helped Broken Arrow reach the state title game.
