Signing day: Union's Jordan Harris signs with Eastern College

Harris finished the 2012 season on a hitting streak for the Union Redskins after coach Shawn Newkirk moved him to the top of the order.
“You see a lot more off-speed pitchers, but you just have to adjust your game,” he said. “It wasn’t a big change for me because I was like, I’ll hit wherever to help the team.”
Harris said he’s hoping to reach the Class 6A state tournament for the first time as a senior this spring.
Then, it’s off to Eastern State College in Wilburton. The Mountaineers have won the last three Region II baseball titles and just missed a trip to the NJCAA World Series in Grand Junction, Colo., last spring.
