Ryan Alger will get to know better two Union players, Khalid Kornegay and Marquice Fletcher, after signing with South Dakota. Kornegay and Fletcher also signed with the Coyotes on Wednesday.

“I’m supposed to be rooming with them,” Alger said.

Alger, a Tulsa World 2012 All-Metro second-team defensive back, will be reunited in South Dakota with former Broken Arrow teammate Will Armstead.

“It will be good to know somebody there,” Alger said. “I like the coaching staff and where the program is headed. It felt like a family environment.”

Alger chose South Dakota over Missouri Western, Northeastern A&M and Emporia State.

“It’s a lot of relief and lot of stress taken away,” Alger said after signing.
