OKLAHOMA CITY - Wednesday's appearance before the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association was an issue of closure for the administrators at Tahlequah Sequoyah High School.

The school has been in front of the OSSAA board of directors multiple times over the past few years for student-athlete appeals, coaching reprimands, game forfeitures and other punishments.

But Wednesday's appearance at the regular OSSAA board meeting was about laying out the clean slate ahead of them.

New administrators and some new coaches are in place as the school tries to put behind it a previous leadership that, in the words of OSSAA executive director Ed Sheakley, "thought the rules didn't apply to Sequoyah-Tahlequah."
