Dwight Yoakam to play The Joint on Saturday

Country music pioneer Dwight Yoakam makes a return trip to the area with a Saturday tour stop at The Joint inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa.
Doors open at 7 p.m., showtime is 8 p.m. The show is sold out. All patrons must be at least 21 years old.
This will be his third capacity concert at the venue in as many years.
His latest album, "3 Pears," was released in September and includes collaborations with Beck, Ashley Monroe and Kid Rock. It's his first full album of new music in seven years.
Since his breakthrough in 1986, he's sold more than 25 million albums and created hits including "Honky Tonk Man," "Please Please Baby," "Little Ways," "I Sang Dixie," "It Only Hurts When I Cry" and "Fast as You," and he has covered Elvis Presley's "Suspicious Minds," Queen's "Crazy Little Thing Called Love," Cheap Trick's "I Want You to Want Me," Clash's "Train in Vain" and the Grateful Dead track "Truckin'."
He's also earned two Grammy awards and 21 nominations. He first played The Joint to a sold-out crowd in 2011.
The country music star also has expanded to the silver screen, acting in movies including "Sling Blade," "Panic Room," "Wedding Crashers" and "Four Christmases."
