Letter to the Editor: Benefit for all?

Recently the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals upheld a lower court ruling for the creation of the downtown improvement district. No one would argue that the Oneok Field has had a major impact on the downtown area. My concern was how the benefit for all was and is being paid for by a few.
It is ludicrous to use the comment that downtown property owners can expect to receive higher values for their properties as an offset for the annual assessment. That being said, the Tulsa City Council should immediately consider other venues for improving the downtown area using another improvement district, such as a theme park.
The door is open and time should not be wasted for additional districts to be paid by the downtown property owners for the benefit for all in the Tulsa area. Also, anyone interested in purchasing the Tulsa Club building should not have any problems in their decision-making process, as the trust officials have pointed out that property values should have an expected increase in value.
