Tulsa County municipal races filing period ends

Candidates filed paperwork this week for city council seats in eight Tulsa County municipalities.

The filing period ended Wednesday.

Owasso: Challenging Mayor Doug Bonebrake, 51, in Ward 5 for a three-year term are Rob Wright, 61, and J.B. Alexander, 55.

Owasso's primary will be held March 5. The general election is April 2.

Glenpool: City Councilor Tim Fox, 55, faces two opponents for a four-year term in Ward 1: David Freeland, 47, and Keith Jones, 51.

Momodou Ceesay, 54, will fill Glenpool's Ward 2 seat after drawing no opponents. Leanne Roberts holds the seat but did not seek re-election.

Jenks: City Councilor Lonnie Sims, 42, faces Darlene Williams, 68, in Ward 2.

Vice Mayor Kevin Rowland, 45, will run against Phillip Morgans, 65, for a four-year term in Ward 3.

City Councilor Brian O'Hara, 52, faces Joshua Wedman, 33, for a four-year term in Ward 4.

Mayor Greg Bowman, 56, will face Steve Murtha, 76, for a four-year term in Ward 6.

Kelly Dunkerley, 47, and Paul Harris, 50, are vying for the council at-large seat, previously held by Vic Vreeland, who resigned.

Skiatook: All five council seats plus two new ones are up for election after voters approved a new council-city manager form of government.

Councilor Debbie Cook, 57, will face Connie Clement, 54, and Herb Forbes, 60, in Ward 1.

David Sutherland, 41, Nate Myers, 34, and Damon Pace, 36, will vie for the Ward 2 seat.

Councilor Joyce Jech, 67, will face Moe Shoeleh, 49, for the Ward 3 seat.

Skylar Miller, 27, Patrick Young, 32, and David McLain, 42, are running for the Ward 4 seat.

Vice Mayor Randy Sien, 48, will face Susan Reed-Hardesty, 77, Richard Barnes, 52, and Patty Pippin Ceska, 63, in Ward 5.

Kevin Paslay, 56, Shawn Martin, 44, and Steve Kendrick, 52, are running for the Ward 6 seat.

O.L. Bud Ricketts, 70, Leon O'Neal, 51, and Eugene Jones, 73, are vying for an at-large seat.

Sperry: Town Trustee Kelly Wensman, 45, will run against Marvin Baker, 68, Robert Morton, 56, and William Butler, 65.

Others: Several incumbents drew no opponents and will retain their seats. They include Sand Springs Vice Mayor Michael Phillips in Ward 1, Sand Springs City Councilor Dean Nichols in Ward 2, Bixby Vice Mayor John Easton in Ward 1, Bixby City Councilor Brian Guthrie in Ward 2, Broken Arrow Vice Mayor Richard Carter in Ward 1 and Broken Arrow Mayor Craig Thurmond in Ward 2.
