Recently a co-worker came in and said, "Oh no, another school shooting."
She had few details, only that it was in Atlanta. Later, while I was at lunch, I saw that it was airing on Fox News, but still few details, only that they had a suspect in custody. That evening I watched the news and saw nothing regarding this.
The next morning came and I retrieved the newspaper expecting to see it on the front page. Not there.
I continued to read the Tulsa World, as I do every morning and finally found the story buried further back and only one column wide and about two inches tall.
I guess this was not newsworthy since the student did not die, or was it because an assault weapon was not used, or was it because an armed guard subdued the shooter without using his weapon?
I guess it just wasn't part of the current agenda of the media to promote more gun control.
