Union softball player Briana Trujillo said she enjoys the feeling of control that comes from being a pitcher, but she was recruited to play shortstop and third base at Northeastern State in Tahlequah.

She moved from Farmington, N.M., last summer and made her one Union season a productive one.

She batted .350, earning all-conference and all-region honors, and ranked among Redskins leaders in almost every statistical category.

Trujillo joins the first recruiting class of NSU head coach Clay Davis, head coach at Berryhill the past four years and head coach at Bacone before that.

She wants to be a pediatrician, massage therapist or teacher.
