Q. I missed season two of “Downton Abbey”
and wonder when it will be available on DVD.
Love that series.
A. The second season was released on DVD
and Blu-ray last year. The third season, now on
PBS, came out on DVD and Blu-ray last week.
Q. My husband and I just loved the show
“Body of Proof” with Dana Delany. Can you
tell me if it’s coming back?
A. As I mentioned recently, it is returning. But
the show has changed a bit. Mark Valley and
Elyes Gabel are joining the show, playing two
police detectives, with Valley’s character also a
former lover of Megan Hunt (star Dana
Delany). Cast members John Carroll Lynch
(who played detective Bud Morris), Sonja Sohn
(Samantha Baker) and Nicholas Bishop (Peter
Dunlop) are now gone. One producer told
TVLine.com that “in trying to bring more eyeballs
to our show, we wanted to change some
of the dynamic and create new characters.
New episodes will start airing Feb. 19.
Q. What ever happened with “666 Park
Avenue?” We love the show and miss it.
A. ABC decided not to continue the eerie
drama beyond its initial 13-episode run. Ten of
those episodes had aired by late December
when ABC took it off entirely in favor of other
programming. According to Deadline.com, the
remainder of “666 Park Avenue” will air in the
summer.
Q. Just wondering if “The Mob Doctor” is history?
Really got hooked on it.
A. You should probably undo that hook. The
show is done. Fox ordered 13 episodes and,
before all those had aired, decided not to order
any more. The last episode aired on Jan. 7.
Q. I hope you will be able to solve a “mystery.
My husband and I had been staunch fans of
“The Closer” and were sorry when it ended.
We watched “Major Crimes” and were getting
adapted to the change and then it seemed to
disappear. Will “Major Crimes” be back on the
air?
A. Yes. For those of you tuning in late, “:The
Closer” ended its run in 2012 when star Kyra
Sedgwick decided it was time to move on. It
continued with many of the other cast members
under the title “Major Crimes,” That show did
well enough in a 10-episode run that TNT
ordered more. New episodes will begin airing
this summer.
