Tulsa area businesses to hold Mardi Gras events

Get your purple, gold and green beads ready.
Mardi Gras is coming to
Tulsa on Tuesday.
It’s the fourth year for the
Blue Dome District’s Mardi
Gras Parade and each year
the event grows. More than
30 floats are registered and
several other groups have expressed
an interest.
Several restaurants and
bars along the parade route
will be having specials that
night.
Ed Richard will be hosting
his party in authentic Cajun
style at Hebert’s Specialty
Meats, and Doc’s Wine &
Food will be celebrating in
Brookside.
Here are some Tulsa Mardi
Gras events happening Tulsa:
Blue Dome District’s Fourth
Annual Mardi Gras Parade, 7 p.m.
Tuesday.
The parade starts at First
Street and Elgin Avenue,
wraps around the Blue Dome
District twice before ending
at Second Street and Elgin
Avenue. The event is sponsored
by McNellie’s Group,
Oklahomans for Equality and
Blue Dome Merchants’ Association.
S & J Oyster Co. Mardi Gras Party,
308 E. First St., 11 a.m. to midnight
Tuesday.
Drink and food specials,
hurricanes, hand grenades,
oysters and more. Costumeonly
balcony, beer garden and
plenty of live music and entertainment
to follow up Blue
Dome’s Mardi Gras Parade.
Enso bar pirate themed party,
104 S. Detroit Ave, opens 5 p.m.
The bar is on the parade
route and décor will be set for
an underwater ship wreck.
Costumes are suggested but
not required. Entertainment
provided by DJ Kartel.
Cajun Ed’s Hebert’s Specialty
Meats, 2101 E. 71st St., 10 a.m. to
10 p.m.
Party New Orleans Style
with free food samples of
your favorite Cajun foods.
Chat with Cajun Ed as he
grills those fantastic sausages
and steaks. Live music in the
evening.
Doc’s Wine & Food Mardi Gras
Party, 3509 S. Peoria Ave., open until
midnight Tuesday.
Cajun food specials
throughout the day, including
crawfish, po boy sandwiches
and live music.
