Valentine's Day activities abound

Valentine's Day is Thursday, and sticklers who prefer to celebrate holidays the day of rather than on the nearest weekend have several options.
'Taste of Chocolate & Comedy'
Laughing Matter Improv will present "Taste of Chocolate & Comedy" at 7:30 p.m. at the Henthorne Performing Arts Center, 4825 S. Quaker Ave. The event will feature "the good, the bad and the ugly side of love," according to a news release from the PAC.
Laughing Matter is a live comedy show that uses suggestions from the audience for its performances. All attendees will also get a taste of chocolate with the show.

David Phelps
Christian vocalist David Phelps will perform a Valentine's concert at the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center, 701 S. Main St., at 7:30 p.m.,
Phelps gained acclaim during his years with the Gaither Vocal Band.
"Noted as a lyric tenor for his ability to sing in a high tessitura for sustained periods, Phelps has consistently garnered rave reviews for his three octave range," says the BA PAC website.

Valentine's Day Dance
All-star vocalist, trumpeter and bandleader Jeff Shadley and his Big Band Orchestra will present "This Valentine's Day Swing and Dance" at 7 p.m. at the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame, 111 E. First St. Dance to the music and enjoy complimentary champagne and dessert.

'Transfigured Love'
Tulsa Camerata will perform a Valentine's Day show at Philbrook Museum, 2727 S. Rockford Road, at 7:30 p.m. The concert will feature three musical works inspired by love: LeoÅ¡ JanáÄek's Second String Quartet, Carter Pann's Nicky's Trio and Arnold Schoenberg's Transfigured Night.

"Barefoot in the Park"
This romantic comedy about a newlywed couple, presented by Playhouse Tulsa, will continue at the Tulsa Performing Art Center's John H. Williams Theatre, 110 E. Second St., 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday.
