Oklahoma picked No. 1 in Big 12 preseason baseball poll

Oklahoma is the preseason favorite to win the 2013 Big 12 baseball regular season following a vote of league coaches.
The Sooners received six first-place votes. League newcomer TCU had the other three first-place votes and was selected second, followed by Texas and Baylor.
Oklahoma State, under first-year coach Josh Holliday, was picked fifth in the nine-team league. Iowa State doesn’t have a baseball program.
Oklahoma is in the top 20 nationally in five different polls, with a No. 14 ranking by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper.
OU opens the season Friday with a four-game homestand against Hofstra. Oklahoma State will travel to New Mexico for a three-game set.
