Missing Vinita inmate captured in Tulsa Wednesday

An inmate who fled from the Northeast Oklahoma Correctional Center in Vinita was captured Wednesday.
James S. Maxwell, 49, escaped about 7:30 a.m. from the facility, according to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.
Maxwell, who authorities said might be in Tulsa, was captured in the 4400 block of South Gilcrease Expressway Wednesday evening.
Police said Maxwell had Tulsa ties and was incarcerated for assaulting a police officer.
