JAY – A 37-year-old mother was found dead a day after she was ejected from her car during a wreck in Delaware County, troopers said.
Krista Summerfield dropped her children off for school Tuesday morning while en route to Kansas, Okla., for vocational school, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.
Summerfield did not arrive and was found in a ravine next to her Chevrolet Impala around noon on Wednesday.
Troopers determined the car failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway and struck a steep embankment around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, the report shows.
The car flipped once and came to rest against a tree in a ravine 5 miles south of Jay.
Summerfield was not wearing a seatbelt.
Troopers are still investigating what cause the wreck.
