Everything old isn't necessarily new again, but it's making a strong comeback. Rick Springfield, the Grammy-winning 1980s rock, pop and TV icon, returns to Tulsa for a 7 p.m. Saturday concert at River Spirit Event Center, 8330 Riverside Parkway.
This time around he'll perform his hits and songs from his new studio album, "Songs for the End of the World," released in October.
Springfield has had 17 Top 40 Billboard hits, including "I've Done Everything for You," "Affair of the Heart" and "Human Touch."
Tickets are $40, on sale at tulsaworld.com/riverspirit and at the River Spirit Casino box office.
The man who made "Jessie's Girl" a household name three decades ago is back for his second concert at the venue in just less than a year.
"Being on the road has been really great," said the singer, actor, author and songwriter in an interview last year with the Tulsa World.
Springfield took a break from 1985 to 1998 to raise his family but has since returned to the road - with surprising success.
His 14th studio album, "Venus in Overdrive," dropped in 2008. A children's album, "My Precious Little One," followed in 2009. That same year, television show "Glee" resurrected his signature hit "Jessie's Girl," to wild success. Springfield has been on an upward projection since then.
His self-penned memoir, "Late, Late at Night," came out in 2010. It was released in paperback in 2011.
Recently, Springfield's relationship with his audience was the subject of the documentary, "An Affair of the Heart," which is making the film festival circuit.
