Letter to the Editor: Heavy thinking

There is a bill making its way through the Oklahoma Legislature that would make it legal to arm teachers.

I grew up in Tulsa and attended Tulsa Public Schools through high school.

I had a few teachers in junior high and high school who being armed would have been pretty scary if you were a student, particularly a student who tended to smart off occasionally.

So, let's do some heavy thinking on this issue before we let teachers start packin'. I know of one algebra teacher I had who would have loved to pull his piece and say, "Make my day."
