Golf: TU's Mabrey honored by C-USA

University of Tulsa sophomore golfer Matt Mabrey was named the Conference USA Golf Athlete of the Week.
Mabrey, from Little Rock, Ark., finished in fifth place in a field of 83 golfers at Tulsa's first tournament of the spring season, the UTSA Oak Hills Invitational, earlier this week. Mabrey carded rounds of 74-70-69 for an even-par 213 total at the par-71 Oak Hills Country Club in San Antonio, Texas.
Mabrey's fifth-place finish improved upon his 54th place finish at last year's Oak Hills Invitational and ties for the second-best finish of his career and best performance of the 2012-13 season.
