Track and field: ORU's Whitt and Gibson sweep Southland honors

For the second time this season, ORU seniors Jack Whitt and Jeffery Gibson sweep the weekly Southland Conference track and field awards.
Gibson was named the conference's track athlete of the week after winning the 200 meters and placing second in the 400 meters in a meet at Ames, Iowa.
Whitt earned the field athlete of the week award after winning the invite category in the pole vault at the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark. Whitt recorded the seventh best performance this season in NCAA Division I by clearing 18 feet-1 inch.
