Texas oil magnate and Oklahoma State University megabooster T. Boone Pickens stands in front of a portrait of himself by Oklahoma artist Mike Wimmer that will hang in the Capitol in Oklahoma City. Gov. Mary Fallin said the honor is "probably long past-due" for someone who exemplifies the spirit of Oklahoma. Pickens grew up in Holdenville and graduated from OSU when it was Oklahoma A&M University. He's donated millions of dollars to OSU and other causes.
