BA's Trey Cobb, Owasso's Andrew Rosa named to All-American team

Broken Arrow pitcher Trey Cobb and Owasso shortstop Andrew Rosa are among area players chosen to Louisville Slugger’s preseason high school All-American baseball team, published in Collegiate Baseball Newspaper.

The team had approximately 180 names arranged in `First Team’ and “Honorable Mention’ categories.

Cobb and Rosa were among four Oklahomans chosen on the First Team, along with catcher Jonathan Denney of Yukon and infielder Gavin LaValley of MWC Carl Albert.

Jenks pitcher Thomas Hatch, Jenks outfielder Trey Michalczewski and Owasso pitcher Jeb Bargfeldt received Honorable Mention, along with pitcher Dillon White of Class A Sterling.

Cobb went 10-2 with 188 strikeouts last season, helping lead Broken Arrow to a Class 6A runner-up finish. Rosa hit seven homers with 42 RBIs for Owasso’s state-tournament qualifier. Both signed letters with Oklahoma State.

Michalczewski, a University of Oklahoma signee, had three homers and 35 RBIs last season and Hatch, an OSU signee, went 6-2 with 71 strikeouts, helping lead the Trojans to the state tournament.

Bargfeldt, a left-hander, went 6-2 as Owasso’s No. 2 pitcher as a sophomore last season.
