Letter to the Editor: Couple of questions

In response to the "personhood" conflict (Feb. 5), I have a couple of questions:
If life does not begin at conception, when does it start? When the baby first moves? When a heartbeat is detected? At birth?
And if this fetus is not a person, what is it? I've never heard of a woman having a kitten, or a puppy, or a foal, or a calf. Nor have I heard of a horse having a human baby. The Bible says God made each to reproduce its own kind. Therefore, that baby the mother (human) carries is a baby who had life at conception. What is so hard to believe about that?
