Just for kids: Monday is Kids-Only Day at the Tulsa Trout Pond. Adults accompanied by children who are fishing are welcome to fish along with them. An Oklahoma fishing license is required for all those over 16 years of age.
The Tulsa Trout Pond is funded by private donations, the Oklahoma Chapter of Trout Unlimited, Tulsa Fly Fishers and NatureWorks.
The pond was recently stocked with rainbow trout and is located in The Gardens Park at LaFortune Park near the corner of 51st Street and Hudson Avenue.
Elk foundation dinner tickets available: Tickets are available for the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Annual Dinner and Benefit Auction, set for Saturday in the Ford Truck Exhibit Hall at Expo Square, 21st Street and Yale Avenue.
Tickets must be purchased before Thursday. None will be sold at the door. Ticket prices vary according to level of membership. A single ticket and membership is $60, a couple (two meals and a membership) is $85.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for the event, which includes live and silent auctions along with raffles and games.
Proceeds go to support the elk foundation in conservation and habitat improvement projects.
