Track and Field: Sooners win six events

Six Oklahoma athletes had victories at the Sooner Invitational at the Mosier Indoor Facility in Norman.
Tia Brooks set a new meet record in the shot put with a 60-foot, 3 1/4 inch throw to claim her eight straight win. Everette Favor took the men's pole-vault title after he cleared a personal-best 17 feet, 1 inch.
Andrew Weaver claimed the men's 1,000-meter run with a time of 2:32.15. Daunicia Demerson won the women's 600-yard run in 1:27.36.
Claire McConnell and Whitney Johnson went one-two in the women's long jump, while Georgina Tamez-Reyna and Alisa Jenkins followed suit in the women's 60-meter final.
