William A. ‘Bill” Black, 83, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2013, at Tulsa’s St. Francis Hospital surrounded by his wife of 58 years, his children, grandchildren and extended family. Born July 16, 1929 in Sapulpa, OK to Nye E. and Claudia J. (Borum) Black. Alumnus of the University of Tulsa, College of Petroleum Engineering; Retired Senior Vice President, Exploration and Production with Helmerich & Payne, Inc. Survived by Mary Lou (Saunders) Black of the home; sons, Brad and wife, Judith Black of Oklahoma City; Ken and wife, Stacy Black of Tulsa, OK; and daughter, Susan and husband, Tom Golliver of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren, Allison and Meredith Black; Reid, Rebecca, and Ross Black; Lauren, Sean, and Colin Golliver; brother, Kenneth Black of Baton Rouge, LA; nephew, Martin Black of Tulsa, and numerous other family members. Visitation 6-8 P.M,, Monday, February 18, 2013, at Moore’s Southlawn. Memorial service will be 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at Asbury United Methodist Church - Mason Chapel.
