Bill and Bob Thomas of Senior Star Living will be honored during LIFE Senior Services' 40th anniversary celebration and its 17th annual Puttin' on the Dog gala Feb. 28 at the Tulsa Convention Center ballroom.
The Thomases have sponsored the event since its inception and are once again its Founding Presenting Sponsor.
Andrea and Dan Ellinor are chairmen of the event, which will offer dinner, music, entertainment and both silent and live auctions.
"My wife, Andrea, and I find great personal reward in assisting families and caregivers by connecting them to the valuable services supporting our expanding number of senior citizens in the region," said Dan Ellinor, senior executive vice president for BOK Financial.
Jay Litchfield will lead the bidding on an auction of such items as a trip for two to San Francisco for a Sonoma Wine Tour; a private tour of Tulsa in a WWII T-6 airplane; a weekend stay at a private Grand Lake home; four tickets to the Oklahoma City Thunder-Milwaukee Bucks game; tickets for four to the Maroon 5 concert in a BOK Center luxury suite; and trips, private dinners, jewelry and more.
Guests will have the opportunity to participate in a Wine Pull for $20 and choose from an assortment of gift-wrapped wines.
"Your support of this event makes a difference for seniors and their families. Every dollar raised contributes to critical information, support and services to those who may not otherwise have it" said Laura Kenny, president and CEO of LIFE Senior Services.
In the past 16 years, Puttin' on the Dog has raised more than $2.8 million to help LIFE Senior Services assist area seniors and family caregivers. Programs range from adult day services, affordable housing, case management services, caregiver support, senior companion program, Medicare assistance program, SeniorLine information and resource counseling, and two senior centers.
Through these services, LIFE promotes independence, dignity, and quality of life for older adults and helps families deal with aging issues. LIFE also publishes the Vintage Newsmagazine and the Vintage Guide to Housing & Services, and organizes and participates in hundreds of community education programs each year.
Organizers of Puttin' on the Dog hope the 2013 benefit will raise more than $350,000 for the nonprofit, a United Way organization.
Presenting sponsors are Bank of Oklahoma, Senior Star at Woodland Terrace and Burgundy Place.
Other sponsors include BlueCross/BlueShield of Oklahoma, Montereau, Herman Kaiser Foundation, Anne and Henry Zarrow Foundation and the Zarrow Families Foundation.
Also, Joe Craft-Alliance Coal, Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, Hillcrest Healthcare System, Moran Family Foundation, Quik-Trip, the Robinson Foundation, T.D. Williamson and WPX Energy.
Others include Fran and Bob Biolchini, Closebend, Littlefield, Andrea and Dan Ellinor, Jean and Randy Foutch, and Sharon and Jim Ruley.
Individual tickets are $125 and event sponsorships are available for corporate or patron levels.
