ORU's Niles, Luper named Southland players of week

Senior guards Warren Niles and Kevi Luper of Oral Roberts University swept basketball player of the week honors in the Southland Conference.
Niles was named the men's player of the week for the third time this season after scoring 25 points in consecutive games against Sam Houston State and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. He was 16-of-32 from the field, 8-of-18 from 3-point range and 10-of-10 on free throws.
Luper was named the women's player of the week for the fourth time in ORU's first season as a Southland member. She was selected as Summit League player of the week 14 times during her first three seasons.
Luper averaged 19.5 points, five rebounds and three steals in victories over Sam Houston State and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi that vaulted ORU to the top of the league standings.
