Catherine Margaret Davis, 86, of Tulsa, passed away on Friday, February 15, 2013. An active person both mentally and physically, Catherine was a serious participant in aerobic classes, and a great dancer at the Tulsa Moose Lodge dances on Tuesday night, which she attended with her son David Shackelford. She was also a regular at the Senior Nutrition Center at First Lutheran Church in Tulsa where she enjoyed meals with friends, followed by rousing card games. Traveling seemed to come naturally to Catherine and her traveling took her to many destinations in and out of the United States, with trips to London and Alaska among some of her many excursions. Survivors include sons Robert Shackelford, David Shackelford, Mark Anthony Shackelford and Jerry Lynn Shackelford, all of Mannford, Roye Shackelford Jr. of LaCygne, KS, and Francis William “Bill” Shackelford of Ft Worth, TX, and her daughter Cathy Cox of Sand Springs, twenty-one grandchildren, thirty-six greatgrandchildren, other extended family members, and many friends that she acquired through her active lifestyle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Davis, and one son, Richard Shackelford. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that you consider a gift in Catherine’s memory to Catholic Charities of Tulsa, 739 N Denver, Tulsa OK 74106. A celebration and time of remembering Catherine’s life will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at the Tulsa Moose Lodge, 11106 E 7th St, Tulsa. Friends are invited to come and share memories of Catherine with those attending. Everyone is invited to stay for a BBQ dinner which will be served immediately following the service.
