ENID — A 16-year-old Enid boy is charged with first-degree manslaughter for the death of a woman killed in a traffic accident.
Authorities said Monday that the youth is accused of being intoxicated and not having a valid driver license when he struck another vehicle, killing 55-year-old Patricia N. Russell of Enid.
Russell was pronounced dead at a hospital after the Sunday crash.
The Enid News & Eagle reports the youth remains in the Garland County Jail. The Associated Press isn't using his name because of his age.
Police said the boy was driving at high speed prior to hitting a car in which Russell was a passenger. The youth suffered minor injuries and the other driver was hospitalized.
