On Feb. 8 the Tulsa World yet again had an article related to the need for oversight of the EMSA organization and its expenditures and what needs to be done about this issue. All that shortly after a state audit issued in January outlining "unwarranted and extravagant spending" on items such as a spa treatments for the CEO (said to be for employee rewards) and employee parties. City officials and the EMSA board members seem to be wringing their hands about this abuse and are seeking advice about how to deal with the ongoing misappropriation of funds.
Here is some advice: Recognize the problem for what it is. Fire the CEO and replace him with someone who has integrity, and see how quickly the problems are corrected.
