Bassmaster Classic coverage: Read preview stories, take a Google Earth video tour of Grand Lake and watch interviews with the competitors.
THOSE OF YOU who live in the Tulsa area have your favorite haunts, those restaurants, bars, shops or landmarks to which you’re most loyal.
But those tens of thousands of you who are visiting now through the weekend for the Bassmaster Classic may not be acquainted with the city’s entertainment and shopping districts, which offer flavor and fun for all tastes.
So let us introduce you, one district at a time.
Tulsa’s growth in the
past few years is probably
most evident in
the Brady Arts District.
Situated immediately
north of the central business
district, the Brady area —
what some naysayers once
dismissed as a neighborhood
of warehouses, some of them
derelict — has experienced
the city’s most noticeable
face-lift, practically doubling
the number of entertainment
offerings in the past couple
years.
It may also be among
Tulsa’s most diverse neighborhoods,
with high-end restaurants
and neighborhood
bars, new clothing shops and
the “Old Lady” Brady Theater
itself attracting people
from across the metro area.
Whether you’re hopping
the Old Urban Trolley on
Friday and Saturday nights
to see all of downtown or exploring
one end of the Brady
District to the other on foot,
you’ll find plenty to keep
yourself busy — and, perhaps,
reasons to come back.
