Broken Arrow is only about 20 minutes from downtown Tulsa and the Bassmaster Expo and Weigh-In.

One of the prime attractions is the Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World. The store even makes it easy to visit with free shuttle rides to and from downtown.

Nearby, find gift stores, visit an ice cream factory or take a leisurely stroll through downtown Broken Arrow.

1. BASS PRO SHOPS

Find a number of special events at the store all weekend. Bassmaster guests can park at the store, shop its Spring Fishing Classic Sale, eat at Uncle Buck’s Grill and then ride Bass Pro’s complimentary shuttle to and from the Bassmaster Expo and Weigh-In in downtown Tulsa. The shuttle runs 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. Meet two of bass fishing’s biggest names, Roland Martin and Rick Clunn, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday and from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday. Find other top bass-fishing pros doing tank seminars in Bass Pro’s aquarium all weekend.

Tours are available 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday through Friday by appointment only. Be sure to call in advance, especially if you want to both tour the creamery and visit the country store.

The tavern’s featured entree, grilled pork steak with a Fiji apple Creole glaze, is extremely popular and will be hanging for the Classic and longer. It’s served with garlic mashed potatoes and goes well with San Angelo’s pinot grigio or apple cider. (L, D)

The bookstore features new, used and rare titles, as well as a quaint eating area to try some traditional Irish dishes, including shepherd’s pie, corned beef, Irish stew, and bangers and mash. (L, D)
