Evidence of T-Town’s
ability to move forward
while honoring its
roots may be most symbolic
in the Blue Dome District.
The entertainment district
lying immediately east of
downtown is named after the
distinct blue dome of an old
gas station, now the whimsical
pole star for a neighborhood
that has enjoyed steady
growth.
It’s also the epicenter for
many of the city’s crowddrawing
extravaganzas, from
the annual Christmas parade
to celebrations for Mardi
Gras and, coming up, St.
Patrick’s Day.
But the Blue Dome draws
people every day and night,
be it for sushi or pizza, Cajun
food or hot dogs, running
shoes or home furnishings
— you name it, you can find
it here.
