Ken Hayes, Enos Semore headline initial Bacone College Athletic Hall of Fame class

The newly created Bacone College Athletic Hall of Fame will bear the name of two men in the inaugural induction class.
An induction ceremony for the first wave of inductees in the Ken Hayes-Enos Semore Bacone College Athletic Hall of Fame will be held 6:30 p.m. Friday at Wacoche Hall on campus.
Three former coaches (including Hayes and Semore), one former player and two teams will be honored. Also selected for induction were former coach Harold "Tuffy" Stratton, former football player Don Chandler, the 1952 Junior Rose Bowl team and the 1967 national championship baseball team.
Hayes is one of two men (Bill Self is the other) to be the men's head basketball coach at both Oral Roberts University and the University of Tulsa. Hayes' body of work at Bacone included a third-place finish in the national junior college tournament in 1964 and he also coached at New Mexico State and Northeastern State before retiring in 1997.
While at Bacone, Hayes hired Semore with the intent of one of them becoming the baseball coach and one of them becoming the basketball coach. Semore chose baseball and led Bacone to a national championship in 1967 before moving to the University of Oklahoma, where he amassed more than 800 career victories.
Chandler was a member of Bacone's 1952 Junior Rose Bowl team. He transferred to Florida, where he was a tailback, punter and kicker for the Gators in 1954 and 1955. He was selected to the NFL's 1960s all-decade team as a punter and won two Super Bowls with the Green Bay Packers.
Stratton coached at Bacone for a three-season span that included the 1952 Junior Rose Bowl trip.
The Junior Rose Bowl team rolled to a 9-0 start before tying Hartnell College 20-20 in Pasadena, Calif., capping the only postseason appearance in Bacone's football history.
Bacone's 1967 national championship baseball team went 47-3, losing only one postseason game before defeating Odessa 10-4 to clinch victory in the Juco World Series.
