Bassmaster officials along with Oklahoma’s Lieutenant Governor Todd Lamb and Tulsa Mayor Dewey Bartlett, Jr., cut the ribbon to open the Bassmaster Outdoors Expo presented by Dick’s Sporting Goods Friday at noon Friday.
A crowd of just more than 1,000 got an early start to viewing the latest in boating and fishing equipment through the maze of booths at the Convention Center. The expo is open until 8 p.m. Friday.
The three-day event continues Saturday from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. and from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sunday.
A steady stream of visitors from all over the area and surrounding states appeared hooked from the start.
“We’ve been busy,” said Vivian Ho, who works for Dynamic Sponsorship of Tulsa.
Ho was part of the crew taking care of the Toyota display where the free T-shirts and the new 2014 Toyota Tundra truck were the big attractions.
Other demonstration areas had plenty of buzz from new lures to casting contests. Some professionals, that included legend Roland Martin, were there to meet and greet the fishing enthusiast.
Admission is free all three days.
