Letter to the Editor: HB 1999 a joke

Are you kidding me? Already many states in the U.S. have soundly rejected the slaughter of horses. Imagine what people who already think Oklahoma is a century behind would think if we began that horrible practice.

Already, there is a huge scandal in Europe concerning more and more horse meat being found in place of what was supposed to be beef. You think that won't happen here?

There was an excellent column by Tulsa World Associate Editor Janet Pearson ("Repeating history," Feb. 15) about this practice. Please look it up. I do not see how anyone could not agree with her, including the dopes who introduced these bills. (The authors) evidently did not do their homework.
