Tulsa World job fair set for March 7

Job seekers should bring multiple copies of their resumes when they attend the Tulsa World Career Fair set for 10 a.m.-3 p.m. March 7 at Central Hall Park of Expo Square, 4145 E. 21st St.
If past attendance is any indicator, as many as 1,500 job seekers could attend what will be the first of two career fairs the Tulsa World has scheduled for this year. Another will occur in the fall.
The career fair aims to create the right match between employers and job candidates, said Bates Frayser, classified sales manager for the Tulsa World.
"Our hope is that anyone who is unemployed or thinking of a career change will find the best possibilities at our event," Frayser said. "For those who are booth holders or employer participants, we would hope they would find the best candidate to fill those positions that they have."
So far, more than 60 employers, representing a range of industries, have reserved booth space for the event. Among them are Walgreen's, DirecTV, Case & Associates, Norris, Kline Oilfield Equipment, Hillcrest Hospital South, Bailey Medical Center and Mays Homecare.
General job opportunities available include CNC machinists, customer care representatives, sales specialists, cashiers, entry level police officers and firefighters, store managers, collectors, sales consultants and buyers-in-training. Health-care positions being sought include, licensed practical nurses, certified nurse's aides, admission coordinators, registered nurse care managers, registered respiratory therapists, medical technologists and registered nurses.
Two workshops will be held during the day that address networking the job market. Vicki Hidde, owner of Resume Source Inc. and author of "Capturing Success," will moderate the sessions.
