Rex Terry passed away Friday, February 22nd, at 4:00 p.m. at his home in Tulsa after a lengthy illness. He was 86. He was born September 1st, 1926, in Oklahoma City. Rex graduated from University High School in Norman before serving as a flight engineer in Okinawa during WWII. He graduated from Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa and embarked on a flying career, ultimately ending in sales. After retiring in 1987, Rex designed and built a sailboat that he navigated through the intercoastal waterway from Tulsa to Florida. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Rowena, their three children, David (Carolyn) Terry of California, Steve (Laura) Terry of Broken Arrow, and Julie (Kerry) Godfrey of Tulsa, and nine grandchildren. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church, located at 15th and Memorial in Tulsa. This obituary was published in the Tulsa World on 2/26/2013.
