Ollie Juanita Longacre, 100, of Tulsa, passed away on February 27, 2013, at Saint Francis Hospital. Ollie was born in Miami, Oklahoma on May 18, 1912 to Allen Matthew Gilstrap and Martha Miller Gilstrap. She graduated from Miami High School then became a legal secretary after she completed business college. Ollie was married to Robert Lindsey Longacre on August 15, 1936 in Joplin, Missouri. They were married 32 wonderful years until his death. Together they established a laundry and linen supply business in Oklahoma, Kansas, and Missouri. While living in Miami she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and United Presbyterian Women. She enjoyed being involved with many organizations including being an officer in the Miami Evening Lioness Club. She was president of the Miami Chapter of the League of Women Voters and a1so president of the Ottawa County Historical Society. Ollie retired from business in the early 1970’s and relocated to Tulsa to be near her daughter and her family. After moving to Tulsa she became a member of Kirk of the Hills Presbyterian Church and joined the Presbyterian Women of the Kirk. She was an assistant state director with the American Association of Retired Persons. She had a passion for genealogy research and enjoyed membership with The National Society of the Daughters of American Revolution, The National Society Daughters of the American Colonists, and United Daughters of the Confederacy. Ollie was preceded in death by her parents Allen Matthew Gilstrap and Martha Miller Gilstrap; her husband Robert Lindsey Longacre; and her sisters Gladys Gilstrap and Laura Cowgill. Ollie is survived by her daughter Gale Smith, son-in-law Bradley Smith; grandsons Robert McCool and Matthew McCool; and granddaughter Lauren and her husband Jay Miller. Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, March 1, 2013, at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel. (3612 E. 91st). Private burial following in Joplin, MO.
