A Tulsa woman suspected of breaking two of her infant daughter’s bones was charged Thursday.
Jessica Lynn Newell, 18, faces two counts of child abuse by injury, Tulsa County District Court filings show.
Newell told police she was changing her daughter’s diaper when the child “called out loudly and continued to do so,” according to her arrest report.
A pediatrician later found the baby had a spiral fracture to her femur and a broken collarbone.
Court filings indicate the baby was between 9 and 11 weeks old when the alleged abuse occurred in early February.
Newell remains at the Tulsa Jail and is scheduled to appear in court Friday.
