Chesapeake Energy Corp. said the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has issued subpoenas for information and testimony as its inquiry into potential conflicts of interest continues as an investigation.
Chesapeake is responding to related inquires from other governmental organizations, the company said in a filing today.
Results of an internal company probe released Feb. 20 found no wrongdoing by outgoing Chief Executive Officer Aubrey McClendon, who borrowed hundreds of millions of dollars from the company’s biggest financiers.
